FINDING CLARITY IN CHAOTIC TIMES
Hey Fulfilled Femme,
This week I want to share with you some insight about how to navigate chaotic situations, and most importantly, how to find clarity in those moments.
Whether it’s a stressful job, job loss, challenges in a relationship, or a big overwhelming transitional time in your life, these moments can be scary, stressful, and really hard to navigate through.
It’s these times that we need clarity the most.
I have had many moments in my life where I could not see moving through a chaotic moment but felt stuck in it. I would sit in an emotional, victim-like mindset and keep thinking, “Why is this happening to me?” and spend more time wallowing than working through the chaos and uncertainty.
Can you relate?
As time evolved, I learned to develop a deep sense of resilience and groundedness, largely because of the pandemic. It was unexpected, and a lot of us did not see it coming to the extent that it unraveled.
It was clear to me then, that I had to shift how I handled chaotic, uncertain moments, and it was that resilience and clarity that helped me through some of the most challenging times of the pandemic.
Here are some of the steps that I took to develop this powerful strategy to move through chaotic times to find clarity and grounding.
1. Pause
Ask yourself, “What do I need right now?” Making you and your well-being the highest priority is so important! Take the day for yourself, rip up your to-do list, and focus on filling up your cup. Maybe that looks like journaling or talking with a friend. Or maybe it’s as simple as finding a sunny spot and sitting there for a while.
Be present, before you do anything else.
2. Feel your emotions
In busy chaotic times, you may feel the need to focus on the task at hand instead of your emotions but that can have long-term effects on your well-being.
This is your time to feel ALL the feels! Pick up your journal, confide in a friend, scream into your pillow, go for a walk, or do an intense kickboxing workout.
Do what you need to do to get your emotions out in a healthy way, so they don’t bubble up to the surface later. No emotional bypassing!
3. Energetic Reset
Because emotions are just energy in motion, it’s time to get that energy moving! It could be physically moving your body by going for a walk or working out, or it could be sitting down with an intentional cup of tea, a warm salt bath, or doing a chakra-clearing meditation.
Get back in touch with the energetic flow within yourself, and clear out the negative, chaotic energy.
Allow the energy to flow through you instead of creating stagnancy. Stuck energy in your body can effect it later in life. Stuck energy in the body has been connected to physical ailments so it's sooo important to address the emotions and energy and feel them fully.
4. Get into an Empowered State
This is the time to ask yourself, “Why did this happen FOR me?”. I am a firm believer that everything that happens, happens FOR you, not to you. You are the most powerful being in this situation. It’s time to reflect on what you can gain or learn from this moment, and what hidden opportunities might come from it.
Look for the gift at the moment, and leave the chaos behind.
No matter what, remember that you are strong, capable, and can move through anything!
Tough times come up to deliver you lessons to prepare you for the life you want. Even when tough ones come up focus on the gratitude for it all.
