The Power of Affirmations
If you don't use affirmations daily, you are missing out. This week I decided to chat about the power of affirmations, share some of my favorites, and teach you how to come up with your own positive affirmations so you can start experiencing the benefits yourself!
What are Affirmations?
Affirmations are positive statements that can help to fuel your mind and call in what you want. They are a great tool for so many things. They have so many benefits. I have been using affirmations consistently for 5 years—I believe they have completely transformed my life.
What are the benefits of using affirmations?
Keeping your mind positive
Keep you focused on what you want to create
Keep you energized
Whether we are aware or not, there are so many things like the news, some aspects of social media, and even the music we listen to that tarnish our thoughts and lower our vibration.
There are always things going on in the world that can keep us down and lower our frequency. Affirmations help us focus on the good things in life. We can learn to control our thoughts, and choose to create by affirming what we desire rather than focusing on what we do not want.
I love using affirmations to help me focus on the goals that I am trying to manifest. If you want to learn more about creating and using affirmations check out my blog post: How to Create Affirmations that Will Change Your Life.
Affirmations also have a magical way to energize us. I know every time I say mine I feel my energy levels go to 100 real quick... especially the ones that talk about states within me that I am looking to amplify. For example, "I am Cassandra 2.0 the strongest physically, mentally, and spiritually I have ever been."
How to Use Affirmations
When you are working on a goal, consider the beliefs blocking you, write them down, and release them. Then write the opposite or the positive version of those beliefs and use them as affirmations to help you get into the frequency of what you want to attract.
Your affirmations are the opposite of the negative thoughts blocking you from achieving your goal. Your affirmations will propel you forward and help you achieve your goals with ease and flow.
Who do you need to be to achieve those goals? What beliefs do you think you should have? What do you need to embody to achieve your goal?
For example, I am on a fitness journey myself. My goals are to become strong, and lean. So I use affirmations like, I feel toned and strong while working out 3 times a week with my personal trainer Sam.
Even on the days that I might not feel like I want to work out. It’s been so helpful to affirm those statements, which slowly become my reality. Saying these phrases out loud lifts my vibration and helps me to believe in myself.
How Often Should You Say Affirmations?
Affirmations work best if you use them daily. The more you affirm your positive affirmations, the more you raise your frequency and begin to believe and embody them.
Play with the kinds of qualities you need to achieve what you are going after. Make sure you avoid statements like, I will, I want, etc.
You want your statements to be present tense. I am, I have, I choose etc. You affirm that you already have the thing that you want. You already are the person you need to be to achieve your goals.
I will, is a wishful statement and does not affirm the belief in the present.
Be consistent, say them out loud, read them off a piece of paper. Get all of your senses involved.
Say it like you mean it. Another super powerful way is to say your affirmations in front of a mirror. The more parts of yourself that you can get involved in the affirming process the better.
