4 Tips to Optimize Your Time
Hey Fulfilled Femme, Do you ever find yourself saying there’s never enough time? How about that there isn't enough time in the day?
I can't believe it's already September! There are only 4 months left of 2023, so I thought this would be the perfect time to talk about optimizing and managing our time.
With the end of the year coming up sooner than we think, it’s time to be laser-focused, and intentional with our time, wrap up our goals, and conquer the rest of the year.
It’s so important to have these time optimization hacks to increase efficiency, be productive, and still be present during the holiday season with your family and friends.
Here are 4 Tips to Optimize Your Time:
1. Be intentional with your perspective on time
How many times do we hear ourselves saying: that there isn't enough time?
It’s such a common complaint, but the problem is that those stories can end up spinning us in circles, and inhibit us from using each moment to its fullest potential.
There’s not enough time!
I need more hours in the day!
Time is the only thing we don’t get back in life. As every second unfolds, we can’t go back.
So rather than lose the time, and waste more time being sad we lost it, It’s so important to become aware of what you believe about time and choose to shift it.
Instead of wishing you had more time, try:
I have all the time in the world!
There’s more than enough time.
I am intentional with my time.
It’s that simple mental shift that will allow you to take each moment as it is, be present, and accomplish all that you’ve set out to do.
2. Balance your weekly goals with your daily to-dos.
If you haven’t found a planning system that works for you yet, I have a weekly productivity guide I would love to share with you.
I love having an organized, weekly list of goals to give me a bird’s eye view and help me better balance your daily to-dos. That's what the Dreams to Achieve Lists in my productivity guide has helped me achieve. From there I also have an agenda where I write down my daily intentions. My favourite agendas are from Ban.do. Check them out.
When you sit down at your desk every day, you can reference your weekly list to ensure that you are making the most out of your time, and always working towards your bigger goals.
3. Say No to Multi-Tasking
Rather than being pulled in a million different directions, focus on one task at a time.
When I sit down at my desk, I reference my weekly goals, set my tasks for the day, and check them off one by one.
I have created a workspace where I am laser-focused, and get my tasks done in much faster time than if I were trying to finish 3 things at once.
It’s great to be aware of all you have to get done, but if you are pulling your attention, it’s going to take you even longer to go through that to-do list.
* Also use iPhone functions like Downtime and Do Not Disturb to help you stay focused on the task at hand. This has been a serious game-changer for me.
4. Be intentional with HOW you use your time
As an entrepreneur, working woman, or as a mom when dividing your attention, make sure that you are doing the tasks that you need to be doing, and outsourcing the rest.
You will be much more productive doing tasks you love. Leave the rest to other professionals that you can hire in your life and business.
I have had virtual assistants help me with tasks in my business and that created more time to shine doing tasks I excel at.
Look at your list for the day and ask,
Do I need to be doing this?
Is this the best use of my time?
Can someone else help me with this task?
Let this be your reminder that it’s okay to ask for support!
